Actually, if you want to make more money working online, you should be duplicating someone else’s success steps for yourself – and if possible improve them. Why be a copy cat? There is no reason to re-invent the wheel and there is nothing wrong with copying as long as you do not break any copyright violations or anything.

The main key to success and to make money working online is, besides keeping focus, is to do something proactive on a weekly basis. Take action today, and do action steps on a daily basis, and you will progress much faster and success will come as a result.

This is mostly important for those who have just begun working as an affiliate for several companies and do not yet have any funding, yet need to built small niche websites to visitors to their site so that they can begin making revenue.

Although this can sometimes be the only option for those who are running on a non-existent budget, it is not a way that will effectively build your website or revenue. There are a few potential reasons why this may be detrimental to your business building efforts.

Problem #1 - Search Engines

Search engines will only look down upon your site if it has the exact same duplicated content than other sites. The more sites that share your content, the less it will help you achieve good search engine rankings.

Good search engine rankings are essential in getting visitors to your sit so that they have a chance to click on your affiliate links. If you cannot even get visitors, then will never make an revenue. Working on the search engine optimization of your site so that you will eventually be high enough in the results to get customers, should be priority one.

Problem #2 - Getting visitors to click 

Although getting your site high on search engine result pages and acquiring site visitors is hard work, unfortunately this is only half of the battle. You must also be able to convince those visitors to click on your affiliate links. If your visitors see the same content they have seen on a multitude of other sites, they will be least likely to click on your links. This is because most people want to buy things that are recommended by people that they trust or whom they feel like are an expert on the subject.

If your content is just duplicated from other sites, you will be exposed as someone who does not really know what they are talking about and therefore will not look heavily on your product recommendations. This will reduce the number of website visitors who will be willing to click through.

Problem #3 - Author Bylines

Most free content is only given to you if you agree to place the authors byline under the article (you can get into trouble if you try to use it without following the stipulated rules). This poses a problem because most author bylines include links. When a reader gets done reading a really intriguing article, there is a strong possibility that they will click on the author’s byline link rather than your affiliate links. This is the entire reason why these authors offer free content to begin with, so that they may get their name and links out there to the public. Using this type of content may mean shooting yourself in the foot and losing possible profitable website visitors.

Once you put these three problems together, you are looking at a serious decline in revenue simply because you used free website content from article directories. Although it may be the only option for some, if you have the funds to buy your own original content, then you should go this route. If you don’t have the finds, however, you may be better off writing your own content and then hiring professional services once you have made a profit to work with.

Looking to make some extra cash online? As hard as it is to believe it is entirely possible to make money on the internet. While I haven’t gotten rich in the last two years I have been able to carve out a little piece of the internet pie for myself. I got started much like anyone else. I started using Google search to find ways to make money online. I checked many different search phrases and found so many possibilities that I was overwhelmed by what actually worked and what might be a scam. I checked out online surveys, creating affiliate web sites, MLM’s and Google Adsense just to name a few.

In the end I spent a good month researching all these possibilities trying to figure out the best route to make extra cash online. I was looking for something relatively easy that I could get up and running quickly. Creating a web site was out of my league as I had never even attempted to build one and online surveys and MLM’s, well they just seemed kind of shady. Then one day I came across an excerpt from an e-book called Google Cash by Chris Carpenter. What caught my eye initially was that I didn’t need to have a web site and I could make money by using Google Adwords, the largest and most popular search engine in the world. It sounded quite simple, place small paid ads on Google and get a commission on anything I sold.

I went ahead and purchased Google Cash and my online money making experience began. There was a learning curve and for the first 3 months I lost money. Not a whole lot because I was careful with my daily budget. And then something amazing happened, after much trial and error on the 4 month I made a profit of almost $400. The next month I made a little more. From that point on I slowly grew my profits, finding tid-bits of information here and there on the internet that helped show me how to make my Adwords campaigns more profitable.

In fact in my quest to make extra cash online I was able to profit a little over $23,000 during the year of 2007 and my return on investment (ROI) for that year was over 100%. I made over 2 dollars for every dollar I invested. That’s a nice bit of extra cash in addition to my full time job.

As I said before there is a learning curve when it comes Adwords. I have found many resources on the internet that are helpful, but until I found what I believe to be the best resource available I was still not maximizing my Adwords effort.

Since then using the strategies learned from these two great resources my ROI has steadily increased to the point where it is nearly 300% today.

If it links to your website, then copy and paste that hyperlink into your artcicle from now on. This is crucial, because you want your link to function properly when someone distributes your article.

Do you ever recommend a product or service to someone that you really like? Do you get paid for making that recommendation? What if I were to tell you that you can make an enormous amount of money passively just by recommending products on the web that are produced by others. This is called an affiliate program. If you are a website owner, you can become an affiliate for one or more products. You can earn up to 50% of the purchase price just by including their ad on your website or e-zine. They provide you with banner ads and/or classified ads which you can use for promotional purposes. Those ads are encrypted with a special link that contains your affiliate ID and tracks that sale to you. Every time someone clicks on a link or banner posted by you and goes to that website and buys, you get paid.

Be Selective About the Affiliate Programs you Join

What I have learned through the years is that there are good and bad products out there. I've also learned that the fastest way to lose someone's trust is to recommend a product or service that does not perform as it should. With one single exception, I will never recommend something that I don't use myself. Let me explain. On occasion, I have had tremendous benefit using a product from a reputable company that I hold in high regard. That same company produces another product that I don't personally need but recognize how it will add value to other people/businesses I know. In that case, I will recommend it to them. If I am an affiliate for that company's product or service and I make that recommendation (through a link in my e-zine, website or email) and it results in a sale, I get paid. It's such a no-brainer and so easy!

I only include affiliate programs on my website and e-zine that are relevant to my target market. Since I provide marketing and web development services to businesses, my affiliate programs are related to products and services that are business related. There are websites out there whose only purpose is to make money through affiliate programs. I am not a believer in that. But at the same time, if you can make some residual income through these methods and add value by endorsing reputable products and services, why not do that? The more you promote affiliate products and services, the more money you make. I call the money that I make from affiliate programs my play money. I use to indulge myself with fine dining, spa visits and other extras that I ordinarily don't do for myself. It's really fun to go the mailbox, find these checks and plan how to spend them!

The REAL MONEY is in your Own Affiliate Program!

Through your affiliate program, you are leveraging your sales by getting many others to sell for you. Let's say you had 100 affiliates and each one sold on average, 10 of your products every month. That is 1,000 total sales per month by your affiliates. If your product retails for $50 and you paid the affiliate half, you are still making $25,000 a month! Now that wouldn't happen immediately but it is reasonable to expect those kinds of results and better with your own affiliate program. And unlike expensive advertising that sometimes doesn't produce a single sale, you only pay your affiliates when an actual sale is made. What would you pay to have a system like this in place that would generate a minimum of $25,000 a month?

The best types of products for affiliate programs are information products like eBooks, CD sets with workbooks that offer training on a particular topic and seminars that are often packaged with books, tapes and/or CDs. The great news is that even if you do not have such a product yet, that is an easy fix. You know something that relates to what you do and that makes you an expert. People will pay dearly for your expertise. All you need is to get some help figuring out how to package it and sell it through your own affiliate program. Start an affiliate program and you can create a stream of income for yourself, whether or not you're physically working.

I hate to break it to you but whether you have your own business or a job, if you have to work in order to make money, you are trading your time for dollars. Having your own affiliate program allows you to make money when you're sleeping, taking a tour of the world, golfing, fishing, enjoying your family and anything else you would rather be doing. Whatever that is, it truly means freedom to be happy and live the life you really want. Once you have your own affiliate program, it will work automatically like a machine that cranks out more and more money for you. After it is set up, it will take an ongoing commitment from you to market it so that it will grow into a highly profitable venture.
