Using Blogs to Make Money Online

12. Sep 2008 22:31, Michal

People spend a lot of time online.  That is a fact about our society these days.  And it seems like the more time we spend online, the more ways people find to make the internet a profit making venture.  Relatively any type of business can find at least a little success online, so most now have some type of website of their own.  This gives business owners a chance to attract potential customers by offering information about their business via a sort of world wide billboard.  This is what has paved the way to using   Blogs to make online money.

Besides simply hosting a corporate website, many businesses have also ventured into the blogging industry.  Those who own businesses or are experts in a particular field can write articles or blogs about their particular area of expertise.  They can display this knowledge quickly and easily and can reach an overwhelming number of people.  If good, knowledgeable blogs are posted, readers will likely become repeat visitors and possibly eventual customers.

Blogging for money is something that is not limited to one specific business type.  There are a number of various fields within that general description.  Politicians use blogs to promote their agendas and attract potential voters and campaign financing.  Artists and musicians use blogs to let fans know how tours are going and where they are headed next and what types of projects they plan to attack in the future.  Athletes and other sports figures use blogs to talk about upcoming games, trades, and stats.  No matter the industry,

blogs allow these businesses to find and keep potential fans and customers.

Clients can enjoy easy access to the blogs of businesses and corporations they in which they are interested.  When they are able to find accurate, timely, interesting information, they will eventually develop a level of trust because they appreciate the information being shared by the company.  Previously, there was not always a simple way for potential or existing clients to find information on the companies of interest and clients often were left wanting information with no way to get it.  Companies are now realizing that customers want details and want to know what is going on within the company.  This is being seen through comments left on corporation blogs.

As mentioned, blogs have become more and more popular as a money maker for internet users.  There is content available through blogs of just about any interest that is appealing to various groups.  Many personal bloggers will allow advertisements to be posted and receive payment per click or a base payment for each ad posted.

Blogs may be best used by corporations to gather potential customers for their business.  Or they may be for aspiring writers to express themselves and share their thoughts and feelings with the world.  Blogs are becoming more and more popular as a way to make a little extra money, whether through marketing of a product or per click advertising.  Blogging is a business that helps to increase and grow other businesses.

How You Can Make Money Online Without a Website

12. May 2008 05:55, Michal

You don’t have to be a genius in marketing or even a web designer, you can make money with information you have.

Help Others Find Job Opportunities

There are plenty of sites available that help to join potential employees with employers that are looking to hire. This is one way you can make money online. Many of the prospective employees are already working and are not actively looking for a new job. These clients are usually found through networking with those people who know qualified candidates for certain positions. You make money online by referring these candidates to employers.

When you present a client to an employer and that candidate is hired for the job, you can make anywhere from a couple of hundred dollars to $5000. That is a nice way to make money online merely for referring a skilled employee for a job. This not only benefits you, but the person for which you found the job too, as they are probably taking steps up the corporate ladder with the change.

Connect Buyers to Suppliers

A common business practice has long been receiving fees for referrals. There has not been much activity in this area to make money online, because thus far there hasn’t been a way to accurately track them. There is a company that can provide you with the means to do just that. Vendors that are willing to make deals using a set referral fee they pay, and when the deal comes through, you can receive as much as 70 percent of that fee. This is a great way for one to make money online.

You Can Provide Contact Information for Businesses

For those businesses that are involved in sales, one of the biggest challenges they face is getting accurate information on potential customers such as their contact data. A great way to make money online is to help those businesses connect with the customers that are ready and willing to do commerce. There is a website that will actually allow you to make money online by helping them to keep up to date information on people you know and will pay you to do just that.

Become a Blogger

One of the fastest growing ways to make money online is with blogs. There are a few sites that will allow you to set up a blog in less than five minutes and it is absolutely free. These sites can help you make money online by setting up Google AdSense and allowing you to display ads and get paid each time a perspective buyer clicks on to that ad. You can make even more money when you set up affiliates programs that will pop in your links when people refer to the items in your affiliate programs. Many people have become successful making money in this way. You merely have to pick a topic you are passionate about, write the content if you can write well and tell your friends to visit your blog. You will be off to a good start, and if your writing is interesting enough, your friends will tell friends, and so on.

How to Blog and Make Money Before Quitting a Job

30. Apr 2008 09:41, Michal

Lately I have come across many blogs whose authors have quit their full-time jobs in order to pursue their dream of blogging for money. I think these bloggers are gutsy, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and taking a huge risk. Although quitting a job to blog for full-time income is an ideal career move, there are some basics to keep in mind before taking the plunge.

1. Choose a topic that makes money

You can go several routes when choosing a blogging topic. The most popular one is to blog about a passion of yours. However, this doesn't always bring in the money. Another option is to blog on topics that people are always searching for. Do the keyword research and base blogs around issues surrounding those keywords. You're better off choosing money making blog topics than wasting time on topics that have low search rates.

2. Serious money is in the traffic

No blog is useful if there is no traffic going to it. You can't monetize a blog with little traffic. Building traffic takes time and how long it takes is totally based on how hard you are willing to work. Now a days you can reach visitors rather easily using social networking sites like Stumbleupon, MyBlogLog, and Blog Catalog. The more targeted you can make your traffic the better. Article marketing can also bring in long-term traffic and help build branding.

3. Choose your method of monetization

There are several ways to monetize your blog from PPC (pay-per-click) ads to selling ad space. One of my favorite ways to make money blogging is through affiliate sales. That is why choosing the right blog topics is critical. You can typically find affiliate programs related to your blog topics. I find affiliate sales are much more lucrative than PPC ads, however, you can test and see which method works for you.

4. Repeat the process

Once you have found a method that works, repeat the process! Making your first dollar online is a great feeling but the key is to grow that dollar into ten, then to fifty, and soon hundreds per day. Once you have discovered a method that works, do the same thing over and over. Don't limit yourself to one method - always experiment. You never know when another opportunity will strike gold.

5. Read, read, read

There is no limit to what one can earn from blogging. The only limit is your ability to build great blogs. If you seek more guidance and rather have a blueprint to blogging for money, then visit Blogging for Fun and Income to learn more.

Many times having a step by step guide can help people jump start their blogging empire. Learn more at Make Money Blogging Before You Quit Your Job.

How to Make Money Off Blog Advertising

27. Apr 2008 09:43, Michal

As more and more people begin to recognize the revenue potential within the world of blogging, even the smallest bloggers are looking for ways to capitalize on their blogs reach. The most obvious way is to incorporate blog advertising into their site. But not all advertising opportunities are the same. Here is a review of the most popular formats, and the pros and cons associated with each one.

Google Adsense

Almost everyone is familiar with the small contextual ad blocks you see on the sidebars of many websites. They list offers that are directly relevant to the content of the website o which they are featured. In return for posting these ads, webmasters are rewarded with a small compensation each time a visitor clicks on the ads. While this is certainly one of the easiest ways to make money from your blog, the relatively low payouts per click can take time to accrue. On the flip side, because they are easy to integrate and track, they can be the preferred solution for bloggers with limited time to devote to research and testing.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing offers provide bloggers with a way to earn commissions on each sale they generate for a third-party website through the posting of banners and websites. Some the best programs can generate impressive returns when creatively integrated into your blog. The key to success in affiliate marketing is to test a number of different advertisers and experiment with creative ways to present their products to your readers. Although this can involve a significant amount of testing, the returns are normally much higher than with Adsense-type advertising.

Direct Advertising

For bloggers seeking a reliable and consistent revenue stream, direct advertising offers the best opportunity. A high-traffic blog can charge upwards of a $100 per month for dedicating a small banner space to a particular client. Multiply this by five or six available slots and you can build an impressive income that is not affected by the tendencies of traffic numbers and reader interests. Of course you will first have to build a stable reader base that can offer good exposure for the advertiser, and it will take some time to find interested parties. For these reasons, direct advertising is not suitable for everyone.

Making money off blog advertising is not incredibly difficult, but it does require a bit of strategy to maximize its potential. Using the points listed here you can determine which outlet is best suited for your blog. No matter which direction you choose however, it is important to experiment with all of them. You don't want to leave revenue on table only because you were too lazy to try something new.

Five Tips To Make Money By Writing Blogs

14. Mar 2008 22:41, Michal

Did you know that you can make money online writing blogs? Yes it is true and some have even made up to six figures a month. It doesn't necessarily mean you can do it nor does it mean you cannot do it for it simply depends on your attitude. Creating a blog is the easiest thing on earth. Within a matter of few minutes you can create a blog in blogpsot. But the challenge lies in continuously working on it, spending time in getting content through articles, latest updates in your field and posting new information for the readers. Here are a few tips to make money by writing blogs.

1. Identify your niche: I have said this in my previous articles and I am again repeating it here. It is very important for you to identify your niche and have a strong passion for it. Unless you have a strong interest, you will have no momentum in updating your blog. First find out if your niche has a market and if it has, do research on the specifics of the niche. Here are some fields that are doing well in today's market

- Health and fitness

- Beauty and skincare

- Affiliate Marketing

- Insurance and Finance

2. Passion and Interest count more than expertise: Do not worry if you are not an expert in your area of interest. What you need is a strong passion and interest which will eventually make you an expert. Don't expect immediate results, give it some time and you will find money trickling, even though initially it may be in small amounts. You can start out by reading articles in ezinearticles, goarticle and articlecity and use the same articles that you thought were most useful giving full credit to the original author and specifying the relevant details in your blog. Then start writing your own articles and post your blog link at the end of article. This is the first step towards generating quality traffic.

3. Google Adsense: Place google adsense on your blogs. This is another way of generating revenue. Avoid going for Google Adsense banners as research has shown that they are consistently overlooked by the viewers. Make sure that you ad blends well with your blog layout. Match the title color of the ad with the color of your text in blog and use very light colors for the content and url so that the Ad title stands out. Don't clutter your ads at the top of the page and expect the reader to scroll down to read the content. The first one third of the page is very precious for the reader, so it is always better to let the content take preference to ads.

4. Advertise your blog to friends and relevant networks: A good way to advertise your blog may be to simply send an email with your blog link to your friends and colleagues. Another way would be to use your bloglink as a default signature in forum postings. Make sure that your postings are valuable in those respective blogs or else you will just be one more spammer. Write articles on squidoo and hub pages and generate traffic to your blog.

5. Affiliate Marketing: Add affiliate links to the products that you choose to promote. Be careful of the products you promote because you want to make sure that you are selling genuine products and don't fall for the get rich trap. What goes around comes around is the saying. Never resort to unethical affiliate marketing, because it is never good for the business. Always put yourself in the shoes of the buyer and think once, twice, thrice before selling or promoting a product.

The Top Money Making Methods Widely Used By Bloggers

19. Feb 2008 02:29, Michal

I have noticed while browsing through the articles over on my blog that most of them don't appear to be very friendly towards new bloggers.

You often find that the more experienced you become in a subject that it actually gets more difficult to write helpful articles for people that are new to it.

This is my first article to be aimed at people new to blogging and concentrates around the most popular methods in which one can make an income from their blog.

I'm sure you know that the web is crawling with advertisements but if you are relatively new to blogging or Internet marketing in general you may not know that the advertisement industry is a market that literally anyone can tap into and take a share of the profits.

Due to the sheer size of the web and the opportunities available a blogger is able to make money from his or her blog in many, many different ways no matter their skill or experience level. I am now going to introduce you to the most common means by which bloggers are currently making the most money....

Pay Per Click Ads

Pay Per Click ads are literally everywhere you look on the Internet and are probably the most popular and most effective way in which a blogger can cash in from their blog. As a PPC publisher by publishing the ads on your pages you gain the opportunity of earning revenue every time someone clicks one of your ads.

Google currently offers the largest, most successful Pay Per Click ad service. Unless this is the first time you have used the Internet I can say that you have at least came across an AdSense ad if not even clicked on one before. These are the self and same ads that you can publish on your own website or blog in order to make money.

There is one major factor in making money from PPC and that is targeted traffic. The big thing with current Pay Per Click ad programs is that the ads are contextually relevant to your websites content. Contextual ads are ads that are served to you website or page based upon its actual content. Since the ads are relative to the content this increases the chances of someone visiting your site actually clicking the ad since it is more likely to be displaying something interesting to them. For example if you have a blog about football and you are running context based ads on your site then the ads will be related to football While this works most of the time there are some situations in which the ads served on your page may not seem relevant to the content. This can be caused by a few things but two of the main causes are poor use of keywords in your content and the lack of advertisers in your niche if it is a very small one.

Widgets

Widgets are extremely popular and usually reside in a bloggers sidebar. There are constantly new services popping out from the virtual woodwork and throwing new widgets at people. Quite a new entry to the advertising widgets playing field is Widgetbucks. They are called Widgetbucks simply because they serve their ads in a widget. Other than this they are essentially the same thing as most other PPC programs. If you search around for other widgets you can use to monetize your blog you should have no problems finding some interesting ones.

Selling Services

If you can offer any form of service online then this can potentially hold massive profits. Maybe you are a professional writer or designer. Services like these can be incredibly profitable and your blog is a great place to advertise and sell them.

Selling Digital Products

Anything that you can offer through online distribution methods can be sold as a digital product. Fewer people are buying music, video games and software and are now opting to purchase them digitally. If you have the ability to create any form of digital product be it a video game, music track, sound effects, screen savers then you have the opportunity to market them through your blog or website.

When it comes to selling digital products, one place I highly recommend is Clickbank. If you have a digital product you would like to sell you can allow Clickbank to handle it all for you for a small commission. Clickbank not only allows you to sell your own products but you can also sell other peoples products too. They allow you to sell other peoples products via a specially formatted link on your website or blog and you will receive commission on every sale you generate.

Merchandise

With so much competition online for sales of physical products this is probably the hardest revenue stream to break into. However, selling physical products can still make you a lot of money if you do it properly.

By merchandise I don't mean wide screen TVs, furniture, video games, movies or anything like that. Recently a family member mentioned to me how she likes to write poetry and she showed me some that she had already written. After looking through the 3 inch thick folder and reading a few poems it dawned on my that this could be a valuable skill to her. The cherry on the cake was when she said that she had previously had two of her poems published in a poetry book so I suggested selling them online as framed pictures with the poems as an overlay and seeing as how she can roll poetry off her tongue like....something that rolls a lot i also suggested writing custom verses for people for special occasions. We are now discussing various ways in which her poetry could be integrated into different products and have plans to build a blog where she can market them.

For those who you who do not have the means to create a physical product you can always use a service such as Cafepress. Cafepress allows you to run a store full of products with your own designs such as mugs and shirts and will even print books with your own content which you can then sell for a profit. All you need to do is create a design and you can upload it to the website and preview it on your products. The products that Cafepress offer are sold at a standard price which you can then add to. Whatever the difference in price after adding to it will be your profit.

Paid Reviews

A paid review is where you may get contacted by another blogger or website owner with a request for you to write a review and post it on your blog for a one time payment. This income stream relies quite a lot on the status of the blogger. If you are a new blogger then you shouldn't expect to get results like this until further down the line when you have established yourself better.

Paid Writing

This wouldn't be a direct revenue stream from your blog but it would more than likely be your blog that would get you noticed for your writing skills. A skilled writer may find the content on their blog enticing other bloggers to request a paid post for their own blog.

Affiliate Marketing

It is difficult to succeed in affiliate marketing as it requires quite a bit of knowledge in general marketing in order to do well. Affiliate marketing is the closest thing to selling your own products and is very different to other ways of making money online which makes it quite a difficult task. While being one of hardest ways to generate a return if you keep at it and become successful the rewards can be huge. Running affiliate ads on your blog is easy and you could probably expect to make a few dollars here and there but to make the big money will take quite a bit of time, research and experience. As an affiliate you will be promoting another persons product. When you generate a sale you will receive a commission for it. The biggest affiliate program to date is probably the one which Amazon run but there are so many companies now that offer affiliate programs that you can be sure to find a product that you can promote through your blog. Amazon currently offers commission of around 4% on most products but the more expensive products such as electronics tend to have a set commission. If your main purpose of blogging is to generate an income then be sure to look into affiliate marketing. You should however be prepared for some hard work if you want to make a decent reliable profit from it.

Donations

One of my favorites. I haven't placed a donation link on my primary blog just yet but i will be doing so in the near future as soon as i start to offer free wordpress plugins and templates. Donations tend to bring in more on blogs and sites that offer free services such as website templates, blog themes, Wordpress plugins, scripts, free graphics, sounds - anything that you would expect to cost a fair amount of money that is offered for free has a greater chance of generating a donation from a happy customer. The reason why free services tend to work the best is that a lot of the time someone may be looking for a plugin or a script to gain certain functionality from their own website but can't afford to hire a professional to do it for them. If they find what they are looking for for free on your website they may feel inclined to send you a donation as a thank you!

Don't keep all your eggs in one basket and NEVER give up if something isn't working out as you'd hoped it would. A lot of blogs fail simply because of the fact that the blogger has become disheartened by their results.

I urge you to experiment with any form of potential income stream you can lay your hands on. If something doesn't perform well then you can always take it down and try out something else in its place. Experimenting with different ways to monetize your blog can be quite fun and it is interesting to see the different results from each method.

There are many different ways to make money on the Internet and do it at home. Unfortunately not everybody can do all of these different ways for various reasons. In this article we will look a one way to make money online and work from home that anyone can do no matter where they live.

What I'm talking about in this article is blogging. Not only blogging, but blogging for profit. Let's look a little closer at what blogging is.

- First of all blogging does not cost you anything monetarily. If you are smart you will host your own blog which you will have to pay for. But the act of blogging itself is free. You're only cost doing this is your time.

- Blogging is easy to do. You do not need any special skills to do it. If you can type the thoughts in your head you can blog. Your ability to come up with thoughtful articles, however, will affect how many people come back to read what you have to say.

- If you like people you can use your blog and social networking to get to know people. Blogging and social networking is has become known as Web 2.0. This is a great way to interact with your readers and build an online business.

- One of the most important ways to make money online and work from home is to develop credibility in the niche that you are in. Blogging allows you to do this. When you provide insightful and useful content you really can brand yourself as an expert on the subject that you write about. Eventually you will get more readers visiting and coming back to your blog.

- You can monetize your blog several different ways. You can add advertising with pay per click programs such as Google Adsense and Bidvertiser. You can include affiliate programs in the various articles that you write about. You can sell leads to different affiliate programs and get paid for those. One final thing you can do is capture names and email addresses for future follow-up to sell to the list that you build.

Create Money Making Blogs

4. Feb 2008 02:09, Michal

Do you own a blog or several blogs? If you do, then do, then do you know that you can make money from your blogs? If you are already making money from your blog, do you want to know how you can make even more money than what you are making now?

Many of you are probably aware of Google's Adsense money making program. If you own a blog and are not taking advantage of this program, then it is such a waste as you are throwing away making easy money opportunities. For those who are wondering what Adsense is all about, they are advertisements Google put on your blog or websites.

If you are a regular internet surfer, you would have probably come across links the words "Ads by Google". Those are adsense advertisements and Google pays a commission to the blog owner for every click on the advertisements.

Some of you may even have tried it, but are not making decent money while others makes 5 figure incomes monthly. Why is there such a disparity? It is because there are many things you need to do besides merely placing adsense advertisements on your blog and hoping people will come to your blog and start clicking away on your advertisements.

If you know how to get people to come to your site and click on Google's advertisement, then you are on your way to earning a passive income and if you have many blogs, then you will have multiple streams of passive income. The best part of all this is that this program is free. You don't have to pay anything to start a blog and earn commissions from Google. That means that there is zero financial risk.

Now the trouble is that most bloggers thought that by just inserting the advertisement, money will come rolling in. Yes, it can be that simple. You can see some money coming in quickly, but it will be merely peanuts. If you want to earn more money out of your blogs, there are more things to do.

Here are some things you need to think about and learn if you want to make more money blogging on your favorite subjects.

a) How to get traffic onto my blog? There are many ways to do this such as making your blog search engine friendly and ranking well on search engines. There are many information on the internet on how this is done or you can visit my blog for more tips. The link is at the bottom of this article.

b) How to get my blog visitors to click my adsense ads? Believe it or not, where do you place your ads, what format and colors are your ads can influence whether your visitors will click on your ads.

c) How to get ads that are paying me more money?

If you have the answers to these questions and are putting them to good use, then you can sit back and wait for the fat paycheck that Google will be sending to you month after month.

How To Make Money From Blogs

5. Jan 2008 22:33, Michal

The number of blogs has risen from a few thousand in 2004 to hundreds of thousands today. And when anything grows at this pace there has to be a reason. And just in case if you are still guessing the reasons, then you have probably denied yourself the opportunity of making thousands of dollars with a least minimum effort.

Income Sources for bloggers:

1. Ads: This is the most common way that blogs make money. But blogs have come a long way from Adsense and BlogAds. That was a time when these were the only available options but now there are many other ways getting ads for your blogs and one of the most favored is Chitika’s eMiniMalls. Others include Adgenta, Adbrite, AVN etc.

2. Sponsorships: Not many people had explored this avenue of revenue generation for blogs until recently when suddenly both, the bloggers as well as the companies realized that blogs could be an excellent way to advertise and sell their products. The sponsorships are generally on per-post basis.

3. Affiliate Programs: You can tie-up with various affiliate programs like Amazon.com, Clickbank.com, Linkshare.com etc. But these are not just the affiliates but they are just a few amongst the thousands that exist ranging from very small to very large.

4. Services: Bloggers can also make money by selling different types of stuff on their blogs or by providing services like eBooks or some courses or tele-seminars etc.

5. Writing blogs: There are people who need someone to write and post new material on their blogs regularly. If you have enough time then you can make money by writing for someone else’s blog. And if you have the proper knowledge of SEO then you can make a really cool amount of money doing so.

6. Though I won’t suggest you to take up this kind of earning method but recently I came across a couple of blogs that were actually making money from whatever people donated to them. They were offering eBooks and mp3s for free respectively. And well the option of how much to pay was open for visitors. You could even download stuff without paying even a penny.

7. Retailing: Of late there have been blogs that have been trying to sell merchandise too. You can find on sale objects like t-shirts, pottery, designer glassware and other stuffs like that. Though they have not seen much success, but with more publicity and better software support they are bound to become a huge success.

8. Consultancy: It is quite common for experts to start their own blogs for their own promotion but the trend has nowadays spilled over to bloggers with absolutely no background in consultancy making huge amounts of money by charging their visitors and clients in consulting business. A weblog (or simply blog) is a website that 'publishes' or features  articles (which are called 'blog posts', 'posts', or 'entries'), written by an individual or a group that make use of any or a combination of the following:

Usually presented and arranged in reverse chronological order, blogs  are essentially used for the following purposes:

A typical blog has the following components:

A blog can also have a footer, usually found at the bottom of the blog, that shows the post date, the author, the category, and the  'stats' (the nubmer of comments or trackbacks).

There are numerous types of blogs. Some of them are the following:

Blogging is typically done on a regular (almost daily) basis. The term "blogging" refers to the act of authoring, maintaining, or adding an article to an existing blog, while the term "blogger" refers to a person or a group who keeps a blog.

Today, more than 3 million blogs can be found in the Internet. This  figure is continuously growing, as the availability of various blog software, tools, and other applications make it easier for just about anyone to update or maintain the blog (even those with little or no technical background). Because of this trend, bloggers can now be categorized into 4 main types:

·               Personal bloggers - people who focus on a diary or on any topic that an individual feels strongly about.

·               Business bloggers - people who focus on promoting products and  services.

·               Organizational bloggers - people who focus on internal or external communication in an organization or a community.

·               Professional bloggers - people who are hired or paid to do blogging.

Problogging (professional blogging) refers to blogging for a profit.

Probloggers (professional bloggers) are people who make money from blogging (as an individual blog publisher or a hired blogger).

Below are just some of the many money-making opportunities for probloggers:

·               Advertising programs

·               RSS advertising

·               Sponsorship

·               Affiliate Programs

·               Digital assets

·               Blog network writing gigs

·               Business blog writing gigs

·               Non blogging writing gigs

·               Donations

·               Flipping blogs

·               Merchandising

·               Consulting and speaking

The following are a few things that you need to consider if you want to be successful in problogging:

1. Be patient. Problogging requires a lot of time and effort, not to mention a long-term vision.

2. Know your audience. Targeting a specific audience or group is a key to building a readership.

3. Be an 'expert'. Focus on a specific niche topic and strive to be the "go-to" blogger on that topic.

4. Diversify. Experiment with various add and affiliate programs that enable you to make money online (aside from blogging).

5. Do not bore your readers. Focus on the layout. White spaces, line spacings, and bigger fonts make a blog welcoming to read.

Certainly, it is possible to earn money from blogs. One just needs to take risks, the passion, and the right attitude in order to be a successful problogger.

Create Money Making Blogs

21. Sep 2007 23:47, Michal
