Making Money Online Through Affiliate Marketing

30. Aug 2008 05:52, Michal

If you've always wanted to start your own online business, but you're can’t find the right business idea, affiliate marketing may be the answer. Instead of promoting your own products, managing marketing campaigns and shipping orders, you will have the opportunity to promote products from other companies and businesses. For each sale you make, you will earn a commission. Commission rates vary from company to company, but many are paying 10% or more depending on the product and how difficult it is to market.

Before you begin promoting goods and services online, take the time to research different affiliate marketing opportunities. Not all programs offered online are the same. Some programs require you to complete training courses, while others require that you have experience in affiliate marketing and your own website.

The difficulty of selling products is something you should consider as well. If a product is produced for a specific audience, you may encounter low sales or competition from other affiliates. If a product or company is well-known you may also experience lower sales since people are more apt to type in the company's web address instead of going through your link. When looking for profitable affiliate marketing opportunities, research companies that are new to the online marketplace. Get a better idea of the types of products they sell by visiting their website and decide if you can sell these items easily.

After you find a company or two whose products you want to promote, you will have to fill out an affiliate marketing application and complete any training or other requirements before receiving a link that can be used to track your sales. Most companies don't have rules on where you can post your link. You can create a sales page, pay to advertise or post your link in open forums or start a blog. When it comes to affiliate marketing, you have many options.

Keep in mind that affiliate marketing will take some effort on your part. If you've read articles that claim this type of business is easy to run, then you may be in for some surprises. Most people who click on your link will not make a purchase. You will have to be diligent in your advertising and research possible markets before spending money on paid advertising. Even though you will be working from home, you need to maintain a business mindset so you can see a return on your time and money.

Those who succeed in affiliate marketing enjoy research and have an attention to detail that allows them to see potential markets for products being sold by the company's they work for. If you enjoy surfing the Internet, learning about new products and finding new markets, then you will enjoy affiliate marketing. Each month, you will receive money for your efforts that can really add up over time. Depending on your diligence, you can earn a living promoting the products of others online. You can also promote more than one company at a time in order to earn even more.

A Way to Make Great Money Online With No Financial Risk

1. Sep 2007 20:13, Michal

By: Paul Middleton

Affiliate Marketing allows you to make money online by hosting an ad or content designed to drive traffic to another site (the advertiser).

Affiliate programs are a great way to get started in online business. You promote them via a web site, blog, email or cost per click advertising such as Google Adwords. The top online Affiliate marketers make a great living from this and there are thousands who make a decent amount of extra cash each month.

There are some companies that have their own Affiliate programs but many rely on a Affiliate Networks such as Commision Junction to manage things for them.

Basically, being an Affiliate earns you commission by reselling other companies products or services. The transaction and payment is handled by the Affiliate Network. You don't have to develop a product, stock inventory, deal with orders, shipping and/or customer complaints. All you need to do is get people to click on your affiliate link.

An Affiliate link will usually be a unique code you add to a URL link to the merchants web site. This code tells the merchant that the visitor has come from you. If someone clicks on this link and purchases the product you will get a percentage of the overall price paid to you as a commission. The percentage can vary from single figure percentages to over 70%.

When someone follows your link to a product page they don't necessarily have to purchase the product first time for you to earn money. In many cases a 'Cookie' is saved on the prospective customers machine. A cookie is a file which in this instance tells the merchant that it was you that first attracted the customer to the site. These cookies are valid for a period of time after the customer first uses your link. This depends on the merchant / affiliate network and can be as long as one year. If the product is purchased in this time period you get the commission even if the customer subsequently goes directly to the merchants site.

Some Affiliates programs have 'tiers'. In this instance not only do you get a commission on any sales you refer but if someone you refer sells the product themselves you get a commission of these sales.

Some programs have recurring commissions. These reward you for the lifetime of the customer. Not only do you earn commissions from the initial sale, but you'll continue to earn a recurring commission as long as that customer remains active.

An example of a recurring commission would be where there is a membership fee involved. Not only would you earn commission when the customer signs up but you would earn further commission every time that customer renewed their subscription. You would get paid for as long as that customer was active.

I hope you're getting the idea now that promoting other peoples products can be extremely profitable!!

As stated above Affiliate marketing is where you can promote another company's service or product and make a commission on every sale or lead. Your job is to drive traffic (customers) to your affiliate link.

There are Affiliate programs for every area and you will be able to find several that fit your interests.

Affiliate programs offer a low cost and risk free way to make serious money. The reason affiliate programs are so great is that you only need to focus on marketing. All the rest is looked after by the network or merchant.

If you’re looking for a low risk way to start making money online Affiliate marketing is as good a place to start. It gives you the potential to make great money with no (or little) financial outlay by yourself.

5 Ways To Make Money Online Today

7. Aug 2007 23:32, Michal

If you are not sure exactly what you should be doing online, don't worry! In this article I'm going to show you some of the best ways to make money online in the year 2003.

Become an affiliate:

This is probably the easiest and the hardest way to make money online. It's easy as it cost's you nothing to join an affiliate program, but it's hard because so many affiliates fails. The stats are 95% of all affiliates never make a cent, but there is help. With the following resources, you will be a step ahead of the rest.

Allan Gardyne's Free Associateprograms.com is a brilliant site to start with. His newsletter is the best in the business.

Phil Wiley's Free Ozemedia.com and newsletter is great, if you can, I would buy his book straight away.

Rob's Free Profitpuppy.com is a hard hitting guide to affiliate programs, straight from the trenches

Create Your Own Software:

This could probably be a bit over your head if you are just starting, but software is selling like hotcakes online. A few examples of what I mean would be, Headergenerator.com and Ecovergenerator.com. These basically just allow you to create your own graphics for your website with out having to hire it out to others.

You can learn more about software and programming from the following resources.

Ben Praters Softwaresecretsrevealed.com is a great guide from someone who is actually making his fortune with software.

Ryan Deiss's Deadsoftware.com is another great site to learn about using pre existing software for your own profits.

Create Your Own Ebooks:

This is the easiest to get up from the ground as you don't need a lot of expensive resources or knowledge. While it seems every man and his dog are creating ebooks and selling them online, it's still a very viable business, and very profitable if you can come up with a topic for your book that is in great demand.

There are only 2 resources you should be checking out if you are new online, (there's a lot more later on down the track).

One is Terry Deans Netbreakthroughs.com which is the ultimate marketing site online. It doesn't matter what you are creating or selling online, you need this site. He shows you exactly what to do with real life examples. This is the most highly recommended site on the Internet to my liking.

The other is Bill Myers Bmyers.com. This site is great for coming up with product ideas but I'm still a little dubious on his online marketing tactics he suggests. Either way, the cost of his membership site is nothing to the amount of ideas you will get for potential killer products.

Create A Members Site:

This is becoming the most popular method of making money online now. Membersites that pay you monthly is where the money is at. Why work your butt off to write a book that's only going to pay you once, when you can write content that will pay you month after month.

The best place to learn about membersites is Paidmembersites.com run by Terry Dean and a few other marketing experts.

Sell On Ebay:

I can not see selling on Ebay ever fading to the point where it's unprofitable to do so. While it may seem everyman and his dog are selling on Ebay, and it's true, it's still very profitable. All you have to do is find a target niche market and give them everything they need. Don't even think about trying to sell electronic goods on Ebay unless you can get them at super cheap prices and have a large quantity to sell constantly.

The best way to learn about Ebay is to get a few products together and sell them. There are plenty of guides on selling on Ebay, most of them you can get from Ebay itself. I also recommend, if you are going to sell on Ebay, that you have another look at Bmyers.com. He talks quite a lot about Ebay, and it's good information.

Make Money Online With Affiliate Programs

If you have wanted to find a way to make money from home without all the hassle of selling products out of your own home yourself, perhaps you should take a look at affiliate programs.

Affiliate programs are an excellent way to make money from home. You can substitute sales pages, which are complicated to work with, with content and draw in more people to your website in the process. You do not have to make the actual sale.

How Can One Make Money Online With An Affiliate Program

It all starts with a web site. People crave content websites. Videos, articles and chat rooms are all different types of great content. Your job is to choose a theme and stick with it. Develop the articles or other content and people will come to it.

As said before, with affiliate programs making you money from your online website, you do not have to worry about putting sales pages that would appeal or trying to convince your visitors to go to a website. Your sole concentration is visitors, guests to your website means more people clicking on banner advertisements.

Once your website is running, with great content that people are coming to see, you can consider picking an affiliate program to run off your website to earn an income.

Connecting with Affiliate Programs that Make You Money Online

Once you’ve developed your website, the next step is the affiliate programs.

But how do you choose an affiliate program that is right for you? Generally, you’ll want affiliate programs that are in the same vein as your niche website. If you love pineapples and your website was all about pineapples, you wouldn’t put a squash advertisement up, would you?

In addition, you also want to look at the affiliate programs to make sure you pick the best deals. If you wouldn’t buy things from the website, why would your customers? Pick a company that you like, but stands a good chance of you making decent money.

Figuring Out Which Affiliate Program Works Best To Make You Money Online

You might try a few affiliate programs and wonder why you don’t make any money with them. It’s not an easy task trying to get to know what your readers want as far as advertising. Of course, all of them would say they wouldn’t want advertising at all.

There are several things to look at when you are displaying your affiliate programs and picking the right ones for the right pages. You don’t want 100 different affiliate programs. If you are looking to make serious money online with your affiliate program, you will need to pick just a small handful to make this work.

Set up your content pages and place your advertising around and below your pages. One or two adverts per page should be enough. If you bombard you visitors with ads, they’ll go elsewhere for content.

Try picking affiliate programs that offer a free trial. These work well when you are first starting out as it concentrates your efforts into giving away free stuff. Free is easier to sell these days.

All in all, use your own best judgment. If something doesn’t look to be making money, drop it and swap for a different. Try new things and see what works best.

Make Money With Your Online Business

4. Aug 2007 21:54, Michal

By: Joel Teo

Have you had a business website online for many years and you haven’t yet discovered how to make money from it? Are you tired of shelling out hundreds of dollars in advertising only to see almost nothing in return for your sales?

You will never believe how many people start up an online business and then within a year quit. In fact, I’ve done that myself with a few projects. I believe a lot of people have the wrong idea about making money online with a business and what it really entails.

Getting The Right Picture of an Online Business That Makes Money

Take a step back for a moment to discover why some online businesses do not work. There could be several reasons for a business to not make any money online.

Time and time again, I see home businesses that do not have proper sales pages set up. A good online business has a niche set of products to work with and a sales page with a good solid description, clear pictures and a way to purchase online. If you don’t have these things, you might as well stop thinking about selling and concentrate on your website.

In addition, you should have some sort of quality content that will give customers something to do while they are at your website. A message board and chat room are not for most home businesses, so why do you have one on your website? Message boards and chat rooms are specifically for places where someone gets a lot of visitors, if you are not getting tons of visitors, don’t bother with this yet.

Instead, concentrate on articles. How to use your products are good articles to work with. For more ideas, ask a freelance writer about writing articles that fit into your website.

The Next Step to Make Money With an Online Business

Your home business may need a few additional steps in order to help you make money online. If you haven’t yet concentrated your efforts into making pages search engine friendly, then that’s what you need to do as well. In addition, you need quality content outside your website. Why and how does that work?

These days, people don’t want to swap links anymore. They would rather have articles for content on their website.

So to get some good links in, share a few articles with content websites. They will be working hard to make that page your article is on as search engine friendly and they will promote that page, thus promoting your business too. So why aren’t you writing articles or sharing content?

Getting Visitors to Make You Money With Your Online Business

Once you have steady flow of free visitors from search engines, you can concentrate on what works for your website. Where do visitors go when they come to your website? Do the look but don’t buy? Do they get lost on the content pages and leave? Do they head strait to the links section and leave?

You need to capture your visitors the moment they come to your website. Present your best offer on your front page. You can link pages that have similar products together. Introduce them to your newsletter. (You have a sales newsletter, right?)

Whatever you do, don’t just expect your visitors to know what to do. Tell them what to do next. Sign up for the newsletter. Visit this page. Click this button to buy now and get it in three days. Easy to forget but this is always important.

Creating an Income Stream with Affiliate Programs

1. Aug 2007 19:50, Michal

By Stephen Russell

Affiliate programs (also called Referral Programs or Partnership Programs) are essentially commission-based sales schemes. You recommend a site to your users and pick up a percentage of any sales those users generate. You benefit from the commission and the site benefits from sales it wouldn’t otherwise have made. If you’ve ever gone to a website and seen links to Amazon, those were affiliate links.

You can run an affiliate program from a site you’ve already set up, or create a site specially to promote a product or service. As long as it brings in more cash than you spend on building it and buying traffic, you’re laughing.

Affiliate ads work two ways: you can join them to make money, or you can run one to attract users.

Joining An Affiliate Program

As with any marketing venture, you need to be careful in the selection of an affiliate program. The benefit of an affiliate program is that it gives you another way to make money from your users. Instead of selling them a product yourself, you send them to a partner and take a cut.

On the downside though, your affiliate ads will take the place of a different ad that you could have put in that same spot. You have to make sure that each advertising position on your site is bringing in the maximum revenue possible. If you’re not getting the most from your site, you’re tossing money away.

The key to success is to choose the right program, right from the beginning.

Now, a lot of commercial sites run affiliate programs. That’s because they know that they only have to pay a commission if a sale is actually made; it’s a proven way to generate revenue without risk. What that means for you is that when it comes to choosing an affiliate program, you’re going to have a huge range to choose from. What it all boils down to though is product and price.

While it might be tempting to go for the program that pays the highest commissions, the program won’t pay you a penny if your users won’t go there or won’t buy once they get there. You have to be certain that the service you’re promoting is of genuine interest to the kind of users you buy, whether you’re buying them from search engines or anywhere else.

Sure, you can work backwards: You find a high-paying affiliate program and create a small site to send users to it, but do you know where to buy users for a program like that? You’re going to have to research the field, check out the most popular sites, and negotiate banner campaigns and link exchanges.

That’s fine if you want to invest the time and the effort. But it’s much easier to find an affiliate program operating in a field you’re familiar with, and use that program to earn extra cash.

For example, suppose you had set up a dating site. You might make bit of money selling subscriptions, but you might make even more by joining Match.com’s affiliate program and selling them your users. Unless you’re planning to be the Internet’s biggest dating site, you’re not going to be able to compete directly and beat them, but you can join them—and earn money.

Or rather than sell your users directly to a ‘competitor’, you can look for services that complement your own. Visitors to your dating site, for example, might be interested in buying flowers, books on relationships or tickets on singles cruises. Instead of selling just one product—membership subscriptions—you’d be selling a whole range of different goods to the same people, and increasing the sources of your income.

Here are some tips to selecting an affiliate program that is lucrative and right for you:

* Don’t accept less than 25% commission. You can find affiliate programs with great payment structures and high percentages of the purchase price in just about every field.

* Look for comprehensive statistics pages that list the number of click-throughs, sales and earnings so you can see how you’re doing. The information should be broken down by month.

* Look for programs that offer a wide variety of promotional tools to put on your Web page, including text links, banners and graphics.

* Find out how often you will be paid and make sure that the payment schedule meets your expectations. Some programs pay monthly, others quarterly; which is best for you?

* Look for examples of marketing methods that successful affiliates are using to get the best results.

* Make sure that top level support is given. If they can’t answer your questions promptly and intelligently, you don’t want to work with them.

Affiliate programs offer a viable solution to competing against larger competitors and still make money. As the saying goes, if you can’t beat them, joint them! Until next time...

Best Regards,

Why Aren't You Making a Ton of Cash as an Affiliate?

1. Aug 2007 19:46, Michal

By Matthew Zavadil and David Huizar

5 keys to you becoming a successful affiliate:

1) HAS THE OWNER OF THE PROGRAM DONE HIS OR HER RESEARCH?

Before you become an affiliate for someone, you want to know one major thing. You want to be very sure they've taken the time to test their whole sales process!

Have they invested some of their own time and money into fine-tuning and improving their sales letter until it really converts visitors into buyers? Is their ordering process simple for your prospects to navigate?

The last thing you want to do is spend a lot of your time and money to generate traffic to a sales letter that can't sell its way out of a paper bag, right?

One way to figure this out is to use a little common sense. How does the sales letter affect you? Is it professional? Does it suck you in? Do you find you can't stop reading it because you just need to know how this product can help solve the problem it's saying it can?

Does it make you want to buy? One thing you don't want to do to the lifeblood of your business (your prospects) is sell them "junky" stuff.

2) $25 MINIMUM

You should pick a product that pays you at least $25 for each sale. Unless you become an affiliate for more than one product (we'll touch on this point a little later), stick to the $25 as a minimum price point so you can take your advertising costs out and still make a profit.

3) FREE TO JOIN

It must be free to join an affiliate program. If they are charging you to join, or require you to buy their product first, it's not an affiliate marketing program.

4) WHERE TO FIND GOOD AFFILIATE PROGRAMS

A great place to start is Clickbank. They have one of the largest affiliate marketing programs you can find. Just go to http://www.clickbank.com and get a clickbank ID.

At Clickbank's home page, go to "Earn Commissions" and search for products that fit you and your site. They are even ranked in order of popularity. That's another sign of whether it's a program worth your time. Another place you can go is http://www.lifetimecommissions.com.

Amazon has a good affiliate marketing program. Go to http://www.amazon.com and click on "Join Associates" near the bottom of the page. You won't get as much of a commission for each sale as you will from Clickbank or Lifetime Commissions but it does accumulate over time.

5) USE A CONTENT SITE

The real key to being successful with affiliate marketing is to develop a good content based website and weave your affiliate links into all your content. You want to "pre-sell" your prospects rather than "sell" them.

Leave the job of "selling" to the sales letter page you are transferring them to. Your job is to provide your prospects with good, quality content regarding whatever they are interested in. Inside this information, when it's relevant, just "recommend" that they click to an offer you honestly believe will be of immense help to them.

Wouldn't you rather have a friend recommend you something of value and allow you the time to consider whether it's right for you rather than be "sold"? Everyone who visits your site feels the same so remember this.

We mentioned earlier that we'd discuss becoming an affiliate for more than one product and how it affects the minimum commission you're willing to accept. If you put together a content site as we're recommending, the $25 minimum isn't as critical.

Of course, you'd like the maximum, fair commission possible, but if you have 15 or so programs you're recommending, you can offer quality products for less. If one of your products brings you $10-$15 in commission and you have some others paying you $25, $75 or more, you can see you're averaging a good return over-all.

Why aren't you making a ton of cash as an affiliate? Follow these 5 points and we see big profits in your future!

Making Money Online With Affiliate Programs

29. Jul 2007 07:21, Michal

By Tom Worsley

If you are like most work from home internet business owners you want your web site to be making you as much money as possible. The choice of affiliate programs that you choose to promote on your web site will determine how much money you actually make, and the options to you are endless. There are so many affiliate programs on the internet promoting almost everything imaginable its mind boggling.

Of course there is one major key to success. Stay relevant to your main web sites theme or subject matter. If for example you own a sports related web site and you add cosmetic and make up ads to it, chances are you are not going to do well. But if you put ads for health and fitness supplements on your sports oriented web site you may interest a few people into buying those products earning you a commission.

So if you have a work from home website were do you find good affiliate programs to join in order to earn commissions?

One of my top paying affiliate programs is Strong Future International. (SFI) Some of you no doubt have heard of SFI since thy have been around for quite a few years now And I have been an affiliate since November 1999. SFI products include everything from books magazines and business building tools to multivitamin supplements and all natural household cleaners. All can be promoted on your web site in order to earn commissions and make money online with your web site.

My next big commission generator is ClickBank. ClickBank is actually a directory of affiliate programs. People join ClickBank in order to promote their products online. Once they are in the ClickBank data base webmasters like you and me who are looking for good content and commissions from our web sites can join their affiliate programs and start earning money from sales generated. If you own a work from home site take a look at some of the products at the following web page CLICK HERE. OH and did I mention ClickBank sends out commission checks very 2 weeks!

Affiliate Fuel pays both for leads and products sold, meaning you can actually earn commissions simply by referring people to a specific site. All the person has to do is click on a link that you place on your website which is directed to a page with a form to fill out. The person fills out the form requesting more info and bingo you are credited with the referral and awarded a commission.

Websponsors is another affiliate program much the same as Affiliate Fuel. These cost per action affiliate programs are great for adding revenue to your bottom line through your web site.

Last but not least Google ad sense has become so popular among webmasters you can see their ads on every other web site that you visit. With google you put ads on your site and you are actually paid every time someone clicks on those ads. In one month last August I made over $500 from Google ad sense alone.

Of course none of the above mentioned affiliate programs will make you a single dime unless your site is generating significant targeted traffic. But if you are already generating good quality targeted traffic to your site give them a try. You will be surprised at just how easy it is to make money online with affiliate programs.

Commission Junction: the Perfect Affiliate Resource for Niche Markets

27. Jul 2007 19:27, Michal

By Fred Farah

There are many affiliate programs you can go to to find real solid product to market online. Most marketers who produce their own product provide these programs that are easily accessible, and can be worked simply by signing up to them. However, there are places you can go, sign up, and have virtually any product in the world at your disposal.

I'm talking about places like Commission Junction, a huge listing of companies who sell online and offer Affiliate programs. All the big name brands are there, so there's no limit to what you can market.

Most of you Internet Marketers are used to thinking in terms of digital products and the first name you probably think of is ClickBank. Well, we know that ClickBank deals only with downloadable products. Commission Junction, on the other hand has affiliate programs mostly for physical products.

If you are into setting up niche markets, you have learned that the online world is not just made up of downloadable ebooks. Most niche markets require affiliate products of physical goods that are shipped by the seller for you. It is in this area that Commission Junction excels.

The advantages of becoming a member of Commission Junction is that you just have to sign up once and that gets you access to every affiliate program they sponsor. This is great for people who niche market through mini-sites because with a few clicks of your mouse, you can quickly plug in product or update product information for all of your niche markets in one session.

If there was a downside to mention it would be that, unlike places like ClickBank, the commissions are somewhat lower. While ClickBank usually carries a 35% to 60% commission on product sold, Commission Junction tends to be in the 7% to 20% bracket.

So if you're hoping to strike it rich marketing one product, then products offered by Commission Junction may not be for you. However, if you're a serious Niche marketer, then you know that you many products to earn a respectable income. One or two products just won't cut it..

In fact, having a membership with Commission Junction, in spite of the relatively lower earning potential per product, is a better deal when you're working niches, because the key to good niche marketing is in finding product that is high in demand yet low in supply. With the number of companies marketing through Commission Junction along with the thousands of product to choose from, one could create mini-site niche markets all day long and still find new and rare product to market.

Thus having ten mini-sites of strong high demand every day products getting 10% commission has a higher long range residual profitability margin than having one site with a 50% commission for each product sold.

Another advantage to having all of your affiliate programs in one place is that your earnings are combined. What this means is that, no matter how many companies you're affiliated with on Commission Junction, each company submits your daily earnings to Commission Junction who, in turn, cuts your check and sends it off to you.

This means less work keeping track of your income, less waiting for accumulated commission checks totaling the usual $100 minimum, and less paperwork come tax time.

Now this may not seem like a big deal to someone who's happy selling one or two products, but if you consider that some niche marketers have well over 100 niche sites, keeping track of everything on a per product basis could get quite overwhelming.

So using a company like Commission Junction has its definite advantages for the niche marketer. Through them you can sell anything from soup to nuts, monitor all of your niche products in one place, and never worry about keeping track of the earnings each niche brings you.

Commission Junction takes care of all that for you. You can find out how much you've earned over all, what earnings you've received from individual affiliate programs, and be assured that your check will reach you in a timely manner.

They also supervise and take care of problems with their sponsored companies, so you never have to worry about a program you belong to going "belly up" while you're aggressively promoting their product.

Yes there are plenty of reasons to join Commission Junction if you're serious about niche marketing. Just take a look at all the companies they sponsor and ponder over all the worry free possible niches you could create through them.

The sky's the limit!
